About Dr. Kevin Gomes

A genuine human connection is the most important part of any successful therapy, as it’s from this nurturing relationship that people can begin to heal wounds, make meaning, find purpose, and eventually grow. With this understanding, my main goal as a therapist is to relate to my clients; to use an empathetic ear to truly understand things from their perspective. This fosters an interaction that is built on compassion and acceptance, and not steeped in judgment and conditions.

Each person is unique, and so I take a client-centred approach that is custom tailored to you as an individual. With training in a variety of therapeutic orientations, including Cognitive-Behavioural (CBT), Dialectical-Behavioural (DBT), mindfulness, Emotion-Focused (EFT), and psychodynamic/interpersonal, I have a broad and flexible toolbox that allows me to interweave techniques from different therapeutic perspectives into a comprehensive experience.

Dr. Kevin Gomes is a registered psychologist (CPBC# 2161) and has a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Windsor.
